  • Chandigarh, September 11 : With a view to prevent the incidents of crime and to improve the Police Response System, the Haryana Government has started a State level Project “Haryana-100”. For this the Central Control Centre has been established in Panchkula so that the people may get police help on the spot in the minimum possible time. 
  • This was informed during the ongoing session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha on a question asked by MLA Mr Jagbir Singh Malik. 
  • It was informed that to prevent the atrocities and crime against women, one women Police station has been established in each district Headquarter and women help centres are established at the block level throughout the State. Besides this, “Operation Durga” campaign has also been started in the State.  In order to ensure the safety of women under ‘Ek Aur Sudhaar’ initiative Durga Shakti App has been launched in the State. Any woman can download the app to get herself registered on this. And if any untoward incident occurs, she can get the help easily after pressing the Alert button. Women PCR and Women Scooties have also been deputed at the deserted places. In order to help the complainant or the victim immediately, a Toll Free number 100 and Women Helpline Number 1091 has also been provided which is operational round the clock. 
  • It was also informed that CCTV cameras have also been installed at sensitive areas. PCRs and Motorcycles have also been deputed at the important places. In order to nab the declared Offenders, absconders and most wanted criminals, special campaigns are started by the State Government from time to time.
