  • Chandigarh, May 12—The high-level delegation, led by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, today wooed investors posting Haryana as a preferred investment destination by showcasing the vast potential and investment opportunities the state offered in different fields at various meetings held in London, today.
  • Leading the charge, the Chief Minister not only unfolded the vast opportunities Haryana offered but also answered queries at the interactive sessions which followed the meetings. Presentations were made by the HSIIDC and quries of potential investors were answered. The delegation is currently visiting UK to bring investments to Haryana.   
  • The meeting with Indo-European Business Forum was attended by more than 100 participants, mostly potential investors, including Lord Karan Billimoria and Lord Raj Loomba. At the interactive session that followed, Mr T L Satyaprakash, MD, HSIIDC, gave a detailed presentation on the investment opportunities available in Haryana in various sectors.
  • The Chief Minister showcased the potential of the state and encouraged the investors to come and invest in Haryana. At the interactive session, he answered queries regarding projects in Haryana, ease of doing business, start-ups, SMEs and aviation hub etc.
  • The delegation also had a meeting on the transport system in London where a conceptual presentation regarding implementation of a comprehensive transport system was made and discussion based on the example of London Transport System, was held. The meeting provided a broader perspective for implementation of a successful city transport system for a growing city like Gurugram.
  • The delegation also met senior representatives of SMEs who had been selected under the Access India Programme of the UKIBC. During the interaction, opportunities Haryana offered in various fields, including big data technology, energy efficiency, 3D printing, agro/food processing, tourism etc. were discussed. The participants wrre assured that the HSIIDC would work closely with such SMEs as were keen on setting up enterprises in Haryana. 
  • A meeting was also held with Indo-UK Institute of Health which was attended by those interested in setting up multi-super specialty tertiary care hospitals and other services in Haryana. 
  • Options for sites for projects and related matters were discussed and clarified. It was decided that the issue regarding final site will be settled by June-end in discussion with the HSIIDC so that investment proposals can fructify.
  • Later, the Chief Minister also attended a dinner meeting organized by Lord Raj Loomba at the House of Lords in the evening. 
  • Chandigarh, May 12—The Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, who is leading a high-level delegation to UK signed as many as six MOUs with different companies in London, today.
  • The MOUs would facilitate investments in Haryana in diverse fields, including fintech, smart cities, emerging technologies, transfer of advanced technology and setting up of an IoT Innovation Centre in Gurugram.
  • The MOU with UK India Global Business Limited (UKIGB) seeks to promote development of smart technology infrastructure (STD), especially focused on aerospace and defense companies. It would include investments, transfer of technology, support services and establishing UK/European companies. 
  • Under the MOU, the two parties have agreed to develop strong institutional, trade and business relations between Haryana Government and UKIGB in order to establish a sustainable smart technology infrastructure to host foreigncompanies.
  • The Chief Minister signed an MOU with Pontaq, a UK India Innovation Fund, focussing on Fintech, Smart Cities and Emerging Technologies. Under this MoU, the Haryana Government would provide necessary grants, subsidies, tax breaks and infrastructure to the portfolio companies of Pontaq aiming to set up their operation in Haryana.
  • He also signed an MOU with Xelba Limited, under which Xelba will provide intellectual property and knowledge and hardware and software tools to deploy such a project, along with the creation of an IoT innovation centre in Gurugram.
  • The Chief Minister signed an MOU with Relmatech Limited, a leading provider of Remote ID and Tracking Systems for unmanned aircraft systems or drones. Under this MoU, Haryana would provide assistance of Relmatech to continue to increase development activities in the field of remote ID and tracking of ummanned aircraft systems in Haryana.
  • Under the MOU with GoodBox, the company will offshore a multitude of functions, including both manufacturing and services.
  • The Chief Minister also signed an MOU with ZapGo Limited, developer of a new generation of fast-charging energy storage devices. Under this, ZapGo Limited would establish a manufacturing site in Haryana.
