- Chandigarh, Feb 15 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that as a lighthouse, the Gita has been showing right path of life to human beings. He said that the Gita is not only a holy book, but it is a way of living life. He said, “My mantra of public service has also been derived from the Bhagavad Gita’s motivation of performing the act by being selfless”.
- Mr. Manohar Lal was speaking at a Seminar on 'Gita Shanti v Sadbhavna Ka Aagar' during the International Gita Mahotsav at Port Louis in Mauritius today. He said that by organising the International Gita Festival, Mauritius has established the importance of the message of Gita for the international community, for which the people of Mauritius and the government deserves applause.
- The Chief Minister said that the natural beauty of Mauritius is world-renowned, but after visiting Mauritius, he has realised that people of this beautiful country are also have beautiful hearts. Situated in the Indian Ocean, the country is also rich in moral values. He said that affinity shown by the people of Mauritius has touched his heart.
- Remembering the arrival of Indians in Mauritius in the 19th century, the Chief Minister said that those people and later their generations have created Mauritius by their hard work. He also remembered the arrival of father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhiji in Mauritius and making people of Mauritius aware about their rights and said that as a result of the inspiration of Gandhiji, the standard of living of Indians had raised in Mauritius. He said that the glory of the Gita has been expressed by scholars from all over the world. He specifically quoted quotes of American author Henry David and Essayist Emerson.
- Expressing deep sorrow over the killing of soldiers in the terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Minister said that the terrorism can be eliminated from the world by adopting the holy message of the Gita. He presented the Srimad Bhagavad Gita to the Acting President of Mauritius, Mr. Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory. Earlier, he also took a round of the exhibition organised in the International Gita Mahotsav.
- Speaking in the Seminar, Acting President of Mauritius Mr. Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory said, “I am not present here as a President, but as a devotee of Lord Shri Krishna”. He said that with the Sri Krishna Jayanti festival, the Gita Mahotsav will also be celebrated every year in Mauritius. He said that the Gita is a unique gift given to us by the God and the aim of this Mahotsav is to enhance the glory of the Gita. He concluded his speech by saying ‘Jai Shri Krishna’.
- Today's session of the Seminar was inaugurated with the Vedpath and lighting of traditional lamp. Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj, Baba Bhupinder Singh ji from Sikh Community, Mohammad Hanif Khan from Muslim community, Lokesh Muni ji Maharaj from Jain community also expressed their views on the Gita.
- President of India-Mauritius Trade and Culture Forum, Preetpal Pannu assured that in future, the Gita Mahotsav will also be organized in different countries. Member Secretary, Kurukshetra Development Board, Mr. Vijay Singh Dahiya thanked everyone. Mr. Mahendra Harpal entertained everyone by singing a song on Gita.
- On this occasion, Indian High Commissioner in Mauritius, Mr. Tanmaya Lal and Director General, Haryana Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr. Sameer Pal Srow were also present.
- Chandigarh February 15: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today announced that a Chair on Gita would be established in Mahatma Gandhi Institute at Mauritius to carry out study and research work on Gita. The assistance of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra would be taken for this purpose.
- Mr Manohar Lal was interacting with the prominent personalities of Mauritius in Mauritius today. He said that this Chair would play a vital role in the social and moral uplift of people of India and Mauritius.
- He suggested that competitions on recitation of all 700 shalokas and their discourse should be organized so that maximum people could assimilate the message of Gita. He said that the roots of people of Mauritius are connected to India and therefore, they should visit India as this would open new doors of exchange between both the countries not only in the field of culture but also in trade and industry. This would benefit both the countries, he added.
- The Chief Minister said that the way with the concerted efforts of Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi International Yoga Day is being celebrated in the world, in the same manner Gita Mahotsav would be celebrated at International level in coming time. He said that both Yoga and Gita are India’s contribution to human being. Similarly, zero is also invented by India.
- Acting President of Mauritius, Mr Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory said that Sanskrit is also the huge contribution of India to the world and there is need to promote it. He said that NASA has considered Sanskrit as most appropriate language for computer. This is the reason as countries like America and England are teaching Sanskrit to their children.
- Representative of various social, educational and other organizations were also present on this occasion.
- First aid medical training programme for Commandos conducted
- Chandigarh, Feb 15 – Haryana CID, in collaboration with the Ojas Hospital, Sector-26, Panchkula, has conducted a one-day first aid medical training programme for its Commandos posted in CM security so as to impart them training concerned with providing emergency pre-hospital care to injured or ill persons.
- The programme which was organized in hospital premises was attended by 25 Commandos posted in CM security where basic first aid medical training was given by the expert and specialist doctors of Ojas Hospital, Panchkula. Haryana Additional Director General of Police and CID Chief, Mr. Anil Kumar Rao was also present at this occasion.
- This programme will help these Commandos to provide immediate assistance to any person who is suffering a serious illness or injury, while being on duty.
- The main aim behind this was that, these commandos performed duties with various VVIPS/VIPs, who or the people around them could face any exigency like an incident of firing, artificial fire, explosion, road accident, mass casualty etc. These commandos at the time are the first responder who could help resuscitate someone while the paramedics are on the way.
- Speaking on this occasion, Haryana Additional Director General of Police and CID Chief, Mr. Anil Kumar Rao said that most of the deaths especially the one in a road accident or head injury, heart attack etc could be prevented if victims were handled properly within the first three to five minutes and given the needed first-aid before they were taken to the nearby health facility. Having knowledge of Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid could boost the effectiveness of security personnel in case of an emergency situation.
- Mr Rao also emphasized the importance of training and added that basic first-aid training should be extended to all so that precious lives of human beings could be saved. It is for the first time when CID has shouldered the responsibility to train its personnel in first-aid with the help of the hospital administration. We would explore the possibility to extend this programme amongst all police personnel , he added.
- A team of doctors at the Ojas hospital which included Dr Harsh Gupta, CEO Ojas Hospital, Dr Trehan Surgeon, Dr A.K. Sharma Neurosurgeon, Dr Chetan Goyal ICU Specialist and Dr Gagan, Ortho surgeon took a day long workshop emphasizing the need for basic CPR. A hands on session which was also an interactive one with the Commandos was given about first aid, taking immediate care of fracture, bone injury or a head injury. The session was made of interest with audio-visual presentations.
- The workshop was attended by SP Security, Mr Hamid Akhtar, DSP CID Mrs Purnima Singh, other officers of CID and eminent doctors and consultants of the hospital.

Birender Singh said that after 70 years of the country's independence, the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi has taken step to improve the economic situation of farmers, and has made a provision of grant of Rs 6,000 annually in the accounts of farmers in the interim budget of the year 2019-20. He also praised the efforts of Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar for the successful organization of the 4th Agri Leadership Summit and providing a platform to farmers in agriculture and allied sectors.
- Ch. Birender Singh was addressing the farmers, after the inauguration of the 4th Agri Leadership Summit-2019 at India International Horticulture Market (IIHM), Ganaur in district Sonipat today.
- Earlier, a two-minute silence was observed to pay homage to martyred soldiers of CRPF in the terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir.
- Ch. Birender Singh said that in agriculture, Haryana is among the leading states of the country but it was far behind in horticulture and other crops. In the last four years, Haryana has progressed a lot in the field of horticulture and other crops. He said that Asia’s biggest Fruits and Vegetable Market, India International Horticulture Market (IIHM) is being set up in Ganaur, which only remained on papers in previous government regimes. But now with the efforts of Mr O.P. Dhankar, the work of setting up the market is in the final phase.
- While criticizing the opposition parties for calling ‘a drop in the ocean’ to the provision of a grant of Rs 6,000 annually in the bank accounts of farmers, Ch. Birender Singh said that why till now, no previous governments could do this for farmers. He said that about 10 crore farmers of the country would get benefitted under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
- Ch. Birender Singh said that Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra yojana and other schemes have been implemented. Similarly, under Ayushman Bharat, there is a provision of medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh annually for the poor.
- Haryana Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar urged all the farmers present to visit each and every stall and learn something new. He said that in the last four years, the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi has the first time in the history of the country, have honoured 12 farmers with Padma Shri Award, which included three farmers of Haryana, Kawaljit Chauhan, Narendra Singh and Sultan Singh. He said that 38 farmers have also been honoured with Krishi Ratna Award in the Agri Leadership Summits that held so far.
- Mr Dhankar announced that this year, Haryana Kisan Ratna Award would be given, which would carry award money of Rs 5 lakh. In order to make farming risk-free for farmers, the compensation amount has been increased from Rs 6,000 per acre to Rs 12,000 per acre for the loss of crops. In the last four years, Rs 3,640 crores of rupees have been given as compensation amount to farmers. Only in Haryana, the sugarcane price is highest in the country that is Rs 340 per quintal and bajra is procured at Rs 1,950 per quintal. Not only this, we have also ensured 100 per cent procurement, he added.
- Mr Dhakar also appealed to the farmers to ensure that they get the details of their crops registered on Meri Fasal, Mera Byora portal by February 28, 2019 to easily provide the facilities being given by the State and Central Government. He said that the previous governments had never thought of organizing such farmers conference and in the last four years of the present government, the organization of such conferences of farmers has opened new doors of progress. Farmers are learning new techniques. Haryana is the first state in the country where all kinds of conferences being organised that included Animal Fairs.
- He said that along with agriculture, first time, the concept of Peri Agriculture has been implemented in the National Capital Region. An annual turnover of Rs 3,600 crore takes place in the International Mandi of Delhi, the farmers of Haryana can also take its benefit by selling their produce there. The IIHM being set up on 600 acres in Gannaur would soon be functional.
- He said that Apple Mandi has been proposed to be set up in Pinjore, with its construction the sale of apples of Himachal would be done through this mandi and would increase the income of farmers. He said that in the last four years, the per person milk production in Haryana has increased to 1,005 gm from 835 gm. Similarly, milk production per animal has increased to 10 litres from 6.8 litres.
- The Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain said that Haryana is an agricultural state. In the last four years, Mr. Dhankar has taken the agriculture sector to new heights. Since the formation of the state, no other government has ever given such compensation amount to farmers for the loss of their crops as given by the present government.
- Haryana Minister of State for Cooperative, Mr Manish Grover said that in order to increase the income of farmers, sugarcane price is highest Rs 340 per quintal. The capacity of all ten government sugar mills is being increased. For this, a special provision of Rs 1,100 crore has been made.
- MP, Mr Ramesh Kaushik, Chairperson, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Mrs. Krishna Gahlawat and Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Mrs Navraj Sandhu also spoke on the occasion.
- Chandigarh, Feb 15 - A letter-writing competition is being organised by the Election Department of Haryana in which youngsters between the age group of 18 to 25 can participate. In this competition, the writers bagging first, second and third positions will be given Rs. 31,000, Rs 21,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively and 30 consolation prizes of Rs 500 each.
- While stating this here today, a spokesperson of the Department said that the youth of Haryana can participate in this letter-writing competition, who is between 18 and 25 years of age as on January 1, 2019, and who have got their name registered in the voter list of the assembly concerned. He said that those participating in the competition will have to express their opinion in the letter regarding registration as a voter and the importance of voting in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. In his letter, the writer would also express his resolve to vote in the election. This letter should be brief and well-documented, he added.
- The participant has to express his views on a postcard or inland letter and send the same to the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, 3rd Floor, 30 Bays Building, Sector-17, Chandigarh. The participant would also mention his name, address and name of the assembly constituency, number, and voter number in the letter. The last date for sending the letter is March 25, 2019, he added.

- Chandigarh February 15: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today visited ‘Apravasi Ghat’ of Mauritius and went around the museum situated there.
- This museum has memories of labourers coming to Mauritius in the 18th century and the hard work put in by them. The Indians constitutes 97 per cent of the total labours that came to Mauritius. They entered Mauritius through the same Apravasi Ghat.
- Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that people of not only Mauritius but the young generation of India also needs to know the history of hard work and struggle made by our ancestors in Mauritius and take inspiration from the same. In the museum, the Chief Minister also keenly observed the things related to living and eatinghabits of labourers coming to Mauritius that time. He said that he salute to those labourers who worked tirelessly and given an Island surrounded by sea, the shape of Nation.
- Chandigarh, Feb 15: The registration work under ‘Pradhan Mantri Shram-Yogi Maan-dhan’ (PMSYM) scheme for the labourers of unorganized sector across the country, between the age group of 18 and 40 years has started from today. The Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India has issued a notification in this regard.
- While giving details, an official spokesman said that under this scheme, a provision of minimum pension of Rs 3,000 per month after the age of 60 years, has been made for the workers of the unorganized sector, which include home based workers, street vendors, mid-day meal workers, head loaders, brick kiln workers, cobblers, rag pickers, domestic workers, washer men, rickshaw pullers, landless labourers, own account workers, agricultural workers, construction workers, beedi workers, handloom workers, leather workers, audio-visual workers and similar other occupations.
- He said that the Scheme will be open only to the unorganised sector workers whose monthly income is not exceeding Rs 15,000 per month. For this, the workers would have to contribute a fixed monthly amount according to their age, while an equal amount is put into the account by the Government and thereafter after attaining the age of 60 years, he or she will start getting minimum pension of Rs. 3000. If a laborer is registered at the age of 18, then he will have to contribute Rupees 55 monthly. Similarly, the labourer who gets registered at the age of 29 years will have to contribute Rs 100 monthly whereas the labourer of 40 years of age will have to contribute Rs 200 per month. . He said that this scheme will not be applicable to those workers who are registered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS), ESI or EPF Scheme.
- He said that in case any labourer who is registered under ‘Pradhan Mantri Shram-Yogi Maan-dhan’ (PMSYM) scheme is giving his contribution on a regular basis and dies before attaining the age of 60 years, then his or her life partner will have the right to continue the scheme. Although the deceased's life partner may opt out of the scheme and contribution upto that time would be given to him or her (in which the share of government and interest will not be included). If any worker wishes to avail the benefit under this scheme, he or she can get himself registered at the nearest CSC center with his Aadhar card, Bank Passbook and IFSC Code. If any worker needs any information or any help in this regard, he can get information from the office of the District Labor Department , Life Insurance Corporation of India office and ESI and EPF Office, he added.

- Chandigarh, Feb 15—Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has strongly condemned the attack on the CRPF convoy in Avantipore area of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir and conveyed his heart-felt condolences to the families of martyred jawans.
- Mr Manohar Lal, who is in Mauritius on three-day visit to participate in the International Gita Mahotsav was speaking at a Seminar organized as part of International Gita Mahotsav in Port Louis, Mauritius. He urged all the participants and audience to join him for a two-minute silence in the memory of martyred jawans. He condemned the dastardly attack on CRPF convoy and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families in this hour of grave loss. He prayed for peace to the departed souls.
- Earlier, the Chief Minister participated in the ‘Gyan Sadhna Shivar’ at hotel Coral Azur in Mauritius and observed two-minute silence in the memory of martyred Jawans. - Haryana : 1170 posts created for Gurugram Police
- Chandigarh, Feb 15 – In a move to further strengthen the law and order, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has given nod to the proposal for the creation of 1170 new posts in already sanctioned 10 Police Stations of Commissionerate of Police, Gurugram.
- While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that the newly created posts include 10 of Inspectors, 90 of Sub-Inspectors (SIs), 110 of Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs), 390 of Head Constables and 540 of Constables.
- Each police station will have an Inspector, 9 Sub-Inspectors, 11 ASIs, 39 Head Constables and 54 Constables. Out of the total, 30 posts (10 each of cook, water carrier and sweeper) have been sanctioned for class IV jobs.
- Giving police station wise details about the posts, he said that 117 posts each have been sanctioned for Police Station Old Gurugram Sector-5, Police Station Rajendra Park, Police Station Sector-18, Police Station DLF Phase-I, Police Station Sushant Lok, Police Station Bhondsi, Police Station Kheri Daula, Police Station Bilashpur, Police Station DLF Phase-III and Police Station, Sector-65.
- He said that the government was taking steps to fill up vacancies in the State police force and the process for filling up of 7,110 vacancies is currently in progress.
- It may be mentioned here that State government had recently accorded approval for the creation of 1957 new posts in already sanctioned 16 Police Stations of Commissionerate of Police, Faridabad.

- Earlier, the Chief Minister participated in the ‘Gyan Sadhna Shivar’ at hotel Coral Azur in Mauritius and observed two-minute silence in the memory of martyred Jawans.
