  • Chandigarh, Sept 16– Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal today inaugurated and laid foundation stone of three projects worth about Rs 13 crore in Panipat.
  • The Chief Minister inaugurated newly created parking space under elevated corridor which has been financed by the Indian Oil, Panipat Refinery and Petrochemical Complex. This project would provide relief to people from parking chaos. As many as 14 blocks have been constructed below the elevated corridor which has capacity to park around 3,000 vehicles. A sum of Rs 6.83 crore has been spent on this project. The walls of elevated corridor have been made beautiful with paintings, mosaic tiles and horticulture. Also, five public toilets have been constructed under elevated corridor and LED lights have been installed in the parking area. Footpaths have been constructed on both sides of the parking area and about 90 benches have been constructed for people to sit.
  • He also inaugurated Sports Facilitation Centre which has established at a cost of Rs 2.72 crore. All modern facilities have been made available in this Centre such as practice hall, gym, nutrition centre, VIP lounge and four dormitories.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of EVM storehouse which would be established at a cost of Rs 4.02 crore and its covered area would be 4,346 square feet.
  • Others present on this occasion included Transport Minister, Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar, MLAs namely Mrs. Rohita Rewri and Mr. Mahipal Dhanda, Director (Refineries), Indian Oil Corporation, Mr. B.V. Rama Gopal, Executive Director, Mr. V. K. Raizada and other dignitaries.
