  • Chandigarh, Mar 19 – Haryana Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki would give away awards to medal winning players, in a function to be organised at Haryana Raj Bhavan, here, on March 20, 2018. The Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal would preside over the function and Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma would also grace the occasion.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Education Department said that the Governor would give away awards to Hockey Player (Girls) including Rekha, Kiran, Neelam, Usha, Anu, Ravin, Jyoti, Bhteri, Dimpal, Bharti, Antim, Manju, Sharmila, Komal, Preeti, Nidhi, Priya and Sonia Devi.
  • He said that Basketball Player (Girls) included Suman, Anjali, Saraswati, Rupal, Ritika, Sonika, Noor Lamba, Ritika, Shilpa Jaglan, Narmada and Kajal. Similarly Kabbadi Players (Girls) include Vaishali, Neeru, Anju, Munesh, Usha, Pooja, Mini, Anu Priya, Suman, Anu, Manisha and Kirti. He said that Kabaddi Player (Boys) included Rahul, Kuldeep, Ronak, Ashish Gill, Ankit, Mohit, Ravinder, Deepak, Sagar, Rahul, Rohit and Sachin. Similarly, football players (Girls) included Manisha, Mohna, Renu, Suchina, Kiran, Poonam, Anaybai, Samiksha, Mamta, Tamanna, Sharda, Sweety, Anju, Priyanka, Simran, Arzoo, Yashika and Simranjeet.
  • The spokesman said that the Archery players included Akash, Harash Prashar, Mayank Rawat, Kirti and Himani. The Athletic Players included Rubina Yadav, Pooja, Govind Kumar, Mandeep Nain, Pooja, Rekha, Ashu Dalal, Jyoti, Yashveer Singh, Bhupender Singh and Aishwarya. He said that Badminton Players who would be awarded included Khush Chugh and Varun. The Boxing Players included Sushma, Komal, Jugnoo, Neha, Mohit, Pushpender Rathi, Vinit, Harsh Gill, Raj Sahiba, Ish Pannu, Pranjal Yadav, Deepti, Vinka, Mohit, Yashi Sharma, Preeti Dahyia, Ajay Kumar, Ankit, Tannu, Chirag Kharb, Rudrika Kundu, Yogita Chahuan, Yuvraj Singh, Poonam, Neha, Minakshi and Rajni.
  • He said that Judo Players included Abhinav, Yash Ghangas, Prince, Aakash, Sanyogita Singh, Rukesh, Arju, Naresh, Jagriti, Priya, Nitesh Kumar and Harish. The Shooting Players included Manu Bhaker, Anjali Chaudhary and Tannu Rawal. Similarly, the Swimming Players included Khushi Jain, Veer Khatkar, Harshita Shokeen, Kanishka Shokeen and Yashika Rawat.
  • The Wrestling Players included Amit, Harshita, Priyanka, Abhimanyou, Nishu, Aashish, Pradeep Vinod, Pinki Narayan, Krina, Megha Kartar, Aakash Dhaiya, Dil Mohabbat Phogat, Sangeeta, Hanny Kumari, Rohit, Ronak Singh, Neelam, Manju Kumari, Lalit Kumar, Nitish Kumar, Nitesh Kumar, Vicky, Ravi Malik, Mehar Singh, Rohit, Ravita Kumari, Vikas, Deepak, Joginder, Sonam, Mansi, Ankit, Anshu, Rahul Solankar and Rahul.
  • Chandigarh, March 19 - The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has given approval to procure 2198 Growth Monitoring Devices for the anganwari centres of two districts namely Nuh and Panipat at a cost of over Rs 4.44 crore in order to ensure accurate records of weights and height of all the beneficiaries which include pregnant women, lactating mothers, new born babies and children upto six years under National Nutrition Mission. 
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Women and Child Development said that these growth monitoring devices included Stadiometer, Infantometer, weighing scales for mother and child and weighing scales for infants. As many as 2198 growth monitoring devices would be procured for 2198 Anganwari Centres for these two districts which included 1150 Anganwari Centres in Nuh and 1098 in Panipat. Approval has also been given for the purchase of 2198 smart phones for Anganwari Workers and 45 tablets for Supervisors. 
  • He said that one of the key activities under NNM is Information and Communication Technology enabled Real Time Monitoring of Anganwari Services. To monitor service delivery through ICT, Common Application Software and IT related assistance is to be provided to the field functionaries. All AWWs are to be equipped with a smart phone for capture of data and lady supervisors with tablet. 
  • He said that Haryana Government has initiated the process to roll out National Nutrition Mission (NNM) in Haryana and initially, Nuh and Panipat districts have been selected for implementation of National Nutrition Mission.  
  • He said that in order to ensure accurate records of weights and height of all the beneficiaries which include pregnant women, lactating mothers, new born babies and children upto six years, Growth Monitoring Devices will be procured for all anganwari centres under NNM.  Anganwari worker will record the weight every month and height/ length every 3 months through the software application to track underweight, stunting and wasting. The availability of growth monitoring devices are very essential in order to monitor the growth of the beneficiaries and update the information into the ICDS-CAS application. 
  • He said that it will incentivise Anganwari workers to use IT based tools. The objective of NNM is to prevent and reduce stunting in children, under nutrition, reduce low birth weight, reduce the prevalence of anaemia in children, adolescent girls and women.
  • Chandigarh March 19 - As many as 165 new schemes costing Rs. 166 crore were approved in the 49th meeting of Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal here today. Out of which, 102 short-term schemes are targeted to be completed by June 30, 2018.
  • The Chief Minister directed all the Deputy Commissioners in the State and Superintendent Engineers of Irrigation Department to ensure speedy implementation of these schemes with the target to complete all short-term schemes in a time bound manner. Most of the schemes are of river works, strengthening and remodelling of drains, replacement of bridges on drains, procurement of flood machinery and pumps etc.
  • The Chief Minister stressed to utilize the accumulated water for irrigation in some other area without wasting it in the drains. In addition he also stressed to conserve maximum rain water during monsoon.
  • The Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, who joined the meeting through Video conference, showed his concern about the heat wave forecasted by IMD during month of April and May. He further desired that District Administration in Coordination with line departments should take all preventive measures to avoid any disastrous situation.
  • Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Mrs. Keshni Anand Arora briefed that the last year flood situation was normal except some flash floods due to concentrated rains. Further, some of the cases of flooding of fields, due to rise of water-table were reported in the Districts of Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad.
  • Principal Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Mr. Anurag Rastogi informed that a scheme to dewater the fields of village Shakkarpura in district Fatehabad was executed successfully to reclaim the water logged fields of about 500 acres. Similar schemes have also been proposed this year.
  • Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Department, Mr. Alok Nigam, Principal Secretary, Public Health and Engineering Department, Mr. Rajeev Arora, Principal Secretary, Town and Country Planning Department, Mr. Arun Gupta, Engineer in Chief, Irrigation, Mr. Birender Singh and Deputy Commissioners of all districts and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
