  • Chandigarh, July 22–The Haryana Government has decided to set up a cultural centre over 10 acres of land in Sector 53 of Gurugram City at a cost of about Rs 184 crore. Tenders for the centre would be floated this week.
  • This was informed at a meeting held in Gurugram late last evening to review work on CM’s announcements made in the four Assembly constituencies of Gurugram district. The Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, presided over the meeting.
  • He directed the officers not to cause any unnecessary delay in implementation of CM’s announcements if they did not want to invite action. Any dereliction of duty would not be tolerated, he added.
  • Discussions were held on various CM’s announcements for the area, including multi-level parking, Government College at Farukhnagar, construction of bypass at Pataudi, establishing Government College for Women at Manesar, construction of mini-Bal Bhavan at Heli Mandi, construction of road from Sidhrawali to Parasoli via Lohucbuca and cultural centre in Sector 53.
  • The other announcements included relocation of meat shops, construction of an auto market, international level railway station, new bus-stand at Gurugram, construction of community centres in Wazirabad and Sector 14, opening of a driving training school, establishing a medical college, completion of under construction indoor stadium at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, and laying sewerage lines at village Bhondsi.
  • The Chief Minister directed the officers to identify about 10 places to construct multi-level parking. There is a proposal to establish multi-level parking at three places. These include Kaman Sarai, Veterinary Hospital near Sadar Bazar, and old jail near Sohna Chowk. 
  • The Chief Minister approved relaxation of one kilometre for opening government college in Farukhnagar block. As per the policy of the state government, college could be established at a distance of every 20 kilometres, and the college at Hailey Mandi is 19 kilometres away from Farukhnagar.
  • Steps are being taken for setting up Government College for Women at Manesar. Cases are being sent for getting clearances from the Forest and Environment Departments. However, admissions have already been started from this academic session and classes are being held at Government Polytechnic Institute, Manesar.
  • Regarding relocation of the meat shops in Gurugram city, it was informed that two places namely, Gadoli Kalan and Choma villages, had been identified for this purpose and no one had any objection. Slaughter house would be established on 2.5 acres of land in the village of Rojka Meo made available by the HSIIDC.
  • The Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, raised the issue of shifting of high tension wires above Patel Nagar. The Chief Minister ordered shifting of these wires and said the entire expenses would be borne by the Municipal Corporation.
  • Chandigarh, July 22--With a view to promoting organic farming in the state, an Organic Certification Agency would be set up for grading and authentication of organic produce near the farms to ensure reliability of organic products on reaching the market.
  • This decision was taken at a review meeting of various projects chaired by the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal. The Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Mr Om Prakash Dhankar, was also present at the meeting.
  • The Chief Minister gave directions to the concerned officers to constitute an Organic Certification Agency which would reach the source i.e. farms, and certify to assure the consumer that the product is purely organic. The Chief Minister desired that we should make a system, and motivate the farmers to adopt organic farming.
  • He said in the Gurukul of Kurukshetra, the institute for training farmers would be completed by March, 2019 after which it would commence training. The Chief Minister was told by the officers that 20 clusters had been formed in 11 districts of the state where 674 farmers were doing organic farming. On this, the Chief Minister said they should fix a target for organic farming.
  • Regarding the Horticultural University, the officials informed the Chief Minister that under this university, four regional centers would be set up at the cost of Rs 486 crore; one will be built in Jind, one in Ambala, one in Jhajjar and one in Sirsa.
  • The area under micro irrigation is increasing and farmers are being encouraged to adopt the scheme. The Chief Minister was also informed about different canals and tail-ends where water has reached.
  • Mr Manohar Lal directed the officers that work should continue on such tail-ends and on canals whose capacity had been increased. Competition should be created among farmers for micro irrigation so that they would extensively adopt this method resulting in saving of water. The officers should also prepare data of micro irrigation and upload it on his dashboard, he added.
  • Chandigarh, July 22: The Haryana Government has decided to bring The Tomb Complex having about seven tombs at Taroru, Nuh in district    under State Protection.
  •  While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that a Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has accorded in principle approval to the proposal sent by Archaeological and Museum department.   
  • Giving details he said that the seven tombs located on way to Jhirka near Power House Touru are  14th -15th  century AD old monuments and currently in deserted condition. The structures stand tall in the 4 acres complex and exhibit style ranging from Tuglaq to Mughal.  The proximity to the seat of the empire ensured that the cultural and architectural influence of the capital was reflected in the life and buildings of this region. The area at present was  under Power Grid of India.  
  • He said that the entire complex was never developed in a holistic manner and structures happened to be built one by one over time.  Structurally, most monuments are in reasonable condition. However, time and vandalism has taken toll on facades and masonry walls.
  • Chandigarh, July 22–The Haryana Government has sanctioned Rs 25 crore for installation of CCTV cameras as part of the city-wide surveillance and traffic management sustem in Gurugram. A proposal to this effect has been approved by the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
  • Stating this here today, an official spokesman said the amount would be provided by the Home Department and other expenses under this project would be borne by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).
  • The Gurugram Police have been consulted on crime-prone and sensitive areas and 21 such spots have been covered in the solution architecture, out of which 16 are junctions. Each junction has been studied and plans have been drawn for the type of camera and its location.
  • He said as many as 61 pilot CCTV cameras were installed and commissioned on January 4, 2018 under the pilot project undertaken by the Municipal Corporation, Gurugram, in collaboration with the Gurugram Police.
  • Fifteen locations were covered under this project, and 44 fixed cameras, 12 Pan–Tilt–Zoom cameras, and five Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras, were deployed and connected to a common control centre at the police headquarters. The project was largely successful, he added.
  • Under this project, Intelligent Traffic Management System, that is, ANPR cameras, Red Light Violation Detectors (RLVD) cameras and Speed Violation Detection would be deployed at high-priority junctions. Similarly, Ultra High Definition cameras would be deployed at high crime-sensitive areas and ANPR and fixed-box cameras at entry and exit points. General surveillance cameras would be deployed at underpasses. An interim manual challaning system has also been implemented.
  • The spokesman said LED screens would be deployed at Police Headquarters and at Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) to act as central location for monitoring of video feed. LED screens would also be deployed at selected police stations which would act as local monitoring centres, he added.
  • Chandigarh, July 22–The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has said that the opposition is misleading people on the issue of SYL, Swaminathan Commission report and caste-based politics. “But it is your responsibility to separate the grain from the chaff, and play the role of a watchman. You all know how the Opposition has been playing a negative role and had planned the disgusting act in Rohtak.”
  • Addressing a public meeting at Shahabad in Kurukshetra district today, he lashed out at the opposition saying that earlier jobs were given through chit system, but the present state government has put an end to it and recruitment had been done for about 26,000 jobs on merit basis. “People can inform me if anyone has taken money in the name of getting them, jobs. Action would be taken against the guilty,” he added.
  • The Chief Minister said the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) had to be increased for the progress and development of the country. At present, the GDP rate of Haryana is 8.2 whereas national GDP is 7.8. “In order to increase the country’s GDP, we will have to increase the GDP of Haryana up to 10.”
  • The Chief Minister said Sunflower crop of farmers in Shahabad Mandi area would be procured. Besides, provision would be made for establishing factories for making ghee and oil from Sunflower.
  • There is shortage of water in southern Haryana. Therefore, some other crops, which need less irrigation, should be sown instead of ‘Jiri’. Vegetable growers are earning more profit these days. The state government has introduced Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana to make farming risk-free.
  • Mr. Manohar Lal said the present government had started ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Programme, and today the sex ratio had reached 922 girls per 1,000 boys. The Central Government has also launched ‘Ujjwala Yojana’ under which five lakh LPG connections have been issued in Haryana.
  • When the Chief Minister asked the public to raise their hands to know if anyone has not got LPG connection, only three persons raised their hands. The Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner and the sub-divisional magistrate to issue LPG connections to them within 48 hours.
  • In view of the demand for seven works made today, the Chief Minister directed that feasibility of these works be checked and, if found feasible, work should be started on them. He announced Rs 50 crore for the construction and renovation of four bridges in Shahabad.
  • Speaking on the occasion, the Haryana BJP President, Mr. Subhash Barala, said many leaders had come and gone, but no one was able to get the farmers remunerative prices for their crops.
  • This struggle of farmers has come to an end under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, and this demand has now been fulfilled after about 80 years. He urged the farmers present to make others aware about this information so that each farmer could avail himself of the benefits.
  • The Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar, said  after One Rank One Pension, the Prime Minister had raised the Minimum Support Price of crops by 1.5 times, proving meaningful the slogan of Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan.
  • He said that as Chairman of the Kisan Morcha, he used to raise the demand for implementation of the Swaminathan Commission report, but the Congress Government did not pay any attention. The present government has given more than the report recommended and the government is working to double the income of farmers, he added.
  • The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Nayab Singh, said  the farmers were exploited during the last 70 years. It is Mr Modi who has honoured farmers by giving them remunerative prices. He demanded that the Prime Minister should be honoured with Kisan Ratan Award for providing remunerative prices to farmers.
  • The Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Krishan Kumar, said farmers of this area would always be grateful to the government for procurement of the Sunflower crop. Development works worth Rs 1,500 crore are being carried out in Shahabad, he added.
