  • Chandigarh, September 22 : Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain said that 83 kilometer long roads of various sectors of Sonepat would be renovated at an estimated cost of Rs.45 crore and this work would be completed within next five months.
  • Mrs Jain disclosed this during her address to the public after inaugurating the construction work of these roads.
  • Mrs Jain said that we will also find a permanent solution to repair the roads which gets damaged time and again due to heavy rains. Now these roads will be constructed with interlocking tiles and the main roads with coal tar. This work will be completed in three to five months and  it would help in smooth flow of traffic in  these sectors.
  • Mrs Jain also laid the foundation stone of streets to be constructed at the cost of Rs. 21 lakh in Raj Mohalla of the city. She directed the concerned officers of Municipal Commission to complete the construction of all these lanes as soon as possible.
  • After this, the Minister also laid foundation stones of drinking water supply line for the households of Shanti Vihar Colony, Shadipur and Patel Nagar. This 13 kilometers long pipeline would be laid under the AMRUT Scheme at a cost of Rs. 90 lakh.
  • During her address to the public she said that directions have been given to the Municipal and PWD officials for repair and construction of all the roads having potholes or damaged during rainy season.
