- Chandigarh, August 27- In yet another crackdown on drug peddlers under operation ‘Prabal Prahar’, Haryana Police today arrested two persons after 17 kg doda post and 5.5 gram heroin was recovered from them in district Sirsa.
- While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that the accused have been identified as Gurjit Singh, a resident of Kariwala and Subham of Mandi Dabwali in Sirsa district. While Gurjit Singh was nabbed with 17 kg doda post from Kariwala area, other accused Shubham was arrested by crime investigation agency on the charges of possessing 5.5 gram heroin grain market, Kabir chowk, Mandi Dabwali area.
- He said that after enquiring about the name of supplier, a case under NDPS Act has been registered against the accused, besides two others. All accused would be taken on remand by producing them in the court. Stern action would be taken after identifying the other persons involved in the racket of drug smuggling and efforts were being made to nab them, he added.
- It may be mentioned here that a crackdown was launched against smuggling of narcotics in the district, especially in the areas bordering Rajasthan and Punjab under operation ‘Prabal Prahar’.
