- Chandigarh, August 27 - Haryana Police have seized 80 boxes of illegal Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 150 boxes of Beer bottles from a Tata 407 vehicle bearing Rajasthan registration number in Rewari district and arrested one person in this connection.
- While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that a police team booked the driver with illegal liquor after getting secret information about transportation of this liquor. The accused has been identified as Vikram a resident of village Turkiawas in Ateli police station area. On being interrogated, the accused revealed that he was transporting the liquor from Rewari to village Rata Mollahada. A case under Excise Act had been registered against him and further investigation was being carried out.
- Appreciating the efforts being made by district police, Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu said that all Superintendents of Police have been directed to launch a major crackdown on drug peddlers and other illegal activities in their respective areas. Regular raids were being conducted on suspected locations by the police.
