  • Chandigarh, September 27- In a first, the Power Utilities in Haryana have earned a profit of Rs 38 crore for the first quarter of current financial year 2018-19.  This has been achieved by consistent efforts made by the Utilities to recover from the losses and the profit would be utilised for creation of additional transmission infrastructure in the State.
  • While giving this information, an official spokesman said that by using Information Technology to the maximum, the Utilities have earned profit as per the vision of the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal. The power utilities have discontinued manual accounting system with effect from April 1, 2018 and switched over to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions in all its accounting units. With the implementation of ERP the accounting transactions are recorded online on real time basis in all the accounting units and then compiled at the Head Office. This ensures transparency in the accounting system besides efficiency.    
  • He said that the Utilities have successfully prepared its quarterly balance sheet and Profit and Loss account From April-June, 2018 in ERP.  The implementation of ERP has also promoted necessary feedback for management decisions and better fund management among all the locations of the power utilities.
