  • Chandigarh, September 27: While describing Haryana's culture as rich and vibrant, Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohal Lal said that the state government has taken several steps to promote our rich culture and tradition at national and international level. Apart from the sending cultural troops to other countries for performance, international Surajkund Crats Mela and Gita Jayani Samaroh are organized every year showcasing our rich culture and tradition.
  • Mr Manohal Lal was speaking as a Chief Guest at the first CU-Rhythms International Folklore Festival organized at Indradhanush Auditorium at Panchkula near here today. MP Mr Rattan Lal Kataria, Education and Tourism Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu and MLA Mr Gian Chand Gupta were also present on this occasion.
  • While welcoming the artists, the Chief Minister said that it is matter of pride that about 400 artists from 20 different countries have participated in this festival. 'I welcome you all in Haryana' he added. 
  • He said that today the human life has become more stressful which is putting an adverse impact on   the peace of mind of people. In such a situation, such performances are the best medium through which we could achieve balance in life. 
  • "Haryana has a rich history. The celestial message delivered by Lord Krishna on the holy land of Kurukshetra 5000 years ago is still prevalent in the today's world and people are following it in their lives", he added.
  • He also congratulated Regional Director, Haryana Kala Parishad and Coordinator of the programme Mr Gajender Phogat for organizing this programme and said that such programs should be organized regularly. For which, he assured all support and cooperation of the state government.
  • Speaking on this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Art and Culture Department, Mrs Dheera Khandelwal said that Haryana has a rich, colourful and vibrant culture and such kind of programms provides a platform to the artists to showcase culture of their respective state and countries.
  • Earlier, the artists of Haryana, Poland, Singapore, Indonesia, Russia, Italy and China gave their performances which made the audience spellbound. 
  • Those other present on this occasion included Deputy Commissioner Mr Mukul Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Abhishek Jorwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Jagdeep Dhanda, SDM Mr Pankaj Setia, artists and large number of people.
