  • Chandigarh, August 28-- With a view to strengthening the social, educational and economic status of workers, the present state government has increased the minimum wages for workers by 52 to 72 per cent.
  • This was disclosed by the Haryana Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Nayab Singh Saini, at a press conference here today. Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr Rajiv Jain, Principal Secretary, Labour Department, Mr Mahavir Singh and Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages, Mr Sameer Pal Srow, were also present on the occasion.
  • Mr Saini said minimum wages of unskilled to highly skilled workers were between Rs. 5,563.95 and Rs. 6,289.50 in 2013-14 which had been increased to between Rs. 8,497.56 and Rs. 10,845.27 by our government.   The minimum wages now for unskilled workers are Rs 8,497.56; for semi skilled workers (A) Rs. 8,922.43, for semi skilled workers (B) Rs. 9,368.54, for skilled workers (A) Rs. 9,836.97, for skilled workers (B) Rs. 10328.83.
