- Chandigarh, August 28 - Haryana Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu released the posters of Durga Shakti App at Police Headquarters, Panchkula today.
- Speaking on this occasion, Mr Sandhu said that Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal had launched this App last month with an aim to provide immediate police help to women in case of any emergent situation. He said that state police is making efforts to use technology for better policing.
- Directing all the Nodal officers of Woman Police Stations to ensure maximum download of the app by women/girls, he said that every woman and girl should download this App from play store into their smart phones. Presently the App is available on Android platform and it would be extended to Apple operating system very soon. The desired objective to launch the App would only be achieved when every woman and girl should have this App in their android mobile phone, he added.
- Director General, Headquarters, Mr K.K. Mishra, ADGP, Operations and IT Mr A.S. Chawla, IGP Modernization, Mr H.S. Doon, SP Crime against Woman, Ms Manisha Choudhry, DSP Law and Order, Mrs Mamta Sauda and other officers were also present on this occasion.
