- Chandigarh, September 4- Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Kumar Bedi said that fulfilling the promise, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has granted in-principal approval to increase Rs 200 every year in all kinds of social security pensions and allowances. From November 1, 2018, the Old Age Samman Allowance, Widow Pension, Disabled Pension, Ladli Social Security Allowance, and allowances to dwarf and eunuchs would be increased to Rs 2,000 from Rs 1,800.
- While giving this information, Mr Bedi said that the decision of the state government would provide 25,96,084 beneficiaries with the benefit of Rs 5192.17 lakh per month. In the four months of the current financial year from November, 2018 to February, 2019, the expenditure on pension is estimated to be Rs. 20768.68 lakh.
- He said that at present, there are 15,13,602 beneficiaries of Old Age Samman Allowance, 6,73,629 of Widow Pension, 1,53,789 of Disabled Pension, 33,907 of Ladli Social Security Allowance, 27 of Dwarf allowance and 26 of Eunuch allowance. Their monthly pension would be increased to Rs 2,000.
- Similarly, Financial Assistance being given to 2,11,403 destitute children would be increased to Rs 1,100 from Rs 900 per month, and Financial assistance being given to 9,701 Non-School Going Disabled Children would be increased to Rs 1,400 from Rs1,200 per month.
