  • Chandigarh July 5— The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today launched his “Chai pe Charcha’ connect-to-people campaign and interacted with scores of party workers and people at different places in the state.
  • He attended about a dozen programmes from Panchkula to Jind to get feedback about the functioning of his government which is about to complete four years in office.
  • His “Chai Pe Charcha Programme’’ has not only posed a tough challenge to the Opposition parties in the state but also left the opposition with no issue to rake up. The state-wide campaign has also refuted the allegations levelled by the Congress and INLD that CM was ignoring party workers and that he was not available to the people.
  • Deviating from his normal routine, Mr Mnaohar Lal left behind his battery of officers in Chandigarh and went directly to the public, took their feedback and jotted down notes in his diary. The feedback which he took would be taken into consideration while preparing future strategy of the party. 
  • Buoyed over the success of the first day of his campaign, the Chief Minister has decided to visit different districts during the next three days to meet people.
  • He kicked off his connect-to-people campaign from district Panchkula where he visited the residence of BJP General Secretary of the district, Mr Surender Sharma, in village Naggal and Mandal Mahamantri of  village Barwala, Mr Amrik Singh . The villagers and party workers accorded him a warm welcome by beating drums and raising slogans in his favour.
  • While interacting with media persons on this occasion, the Chief Minister said under this programme, he would visit different villages of district Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal and Jind and interact with party workers. In all, he would cover a distance of about 200 kilometers.
  • Apart from “Chai pe Charcha”, he will also reach out to the people through his road-shows and public meetings. In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said the decision of the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, to  increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of all Kharif crops was appreciable and in the larger interest of the farming community of the country and the state.
  • Later, the Chief Minister visited district Ambala where he addressed programmes at the residence of Mr Goldi Rana in village Patrehri and President of BJP Yuva Morcha, Mr Kamal Gondi, in village Magarpur.
  • While addressing party workers and people present on this occasion, the Chief Minister said by increasing the MSP of Kharif crops, the Prime Minister had fulfilled the long pending demand of farmers. Since Independence, this is the first time that any government has made such a significant hike in the MSP.
  • He said that the previous Congress Government did nothing to implement recommendations of the Swaminathan Report during its ten-year tenure. He also blamed the former Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, for misguiding the farmers on this issue.
  • Chandigarh, July 5 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that holding Vidhan Sabha elections throughout the country alongwith Lok Sabha election in 2019 seems impossible whereas it could be possible in 2024 elections.
  • The Chief Minister, was replying a question while interacting with media persons at Kaithal today.
  • He said that aim of political party is to connect with maximum number of people. In order to connect with people, ‘Connect to People Campaign’ has been started. Under this campaign, nine road shows have so far been done in big cities and a new initiative ‘Mukhya Mantri Se Sidhi Baat’ has been started in villages with population over 10,000 under which direct dialogue is made with people.
  • He said that through ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ programme, he has been taking feedback about development works and welfare schemes from party workers and people. He said that the State Government has been making concerted efforts to provide basic facilities to 2.5 crore population of the state. The hard earned income of people would be utilised for the welfare of all, he added.
  • During the last three-and-a-half year’s tenure, appointment letters have been issued to 30,000 youth and process of recruitment to 54,000 posts was under progress. He said that recruitment to 38,000 Group-D posts would soon be started. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has lifted stay on recruitment of TGT Science posts which will accelerate this recruitment, he added.
  • Chandigarh, July 5 – Haryana Government has accorded administrative approval amounting to over Rs 2.74 crore for construction of 3.5 km new road from Garhi to Bhagthala in district Rewari.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the State Government has also accorded administrative approval amounting to over Rs 1.70 crore for construction of 1.5 km new road from Kishangarh to Gurukul Ghasera up to Sekhpur Sikarpur road in district Rewari.
  • He said that proposals to this effect have been approved by the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
