  • Chandigarh, Sept 5- Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today decided to constitute a public charitable trust called the Rohnat Freedom Trust (RFT) for village Rohnat, district Bhiwani.
  • The office of the RFT will be in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Bhiwani. The trustees will hold and manage the properties of the RFT in accordance with the provisions of the Trust Deed. 
  • The objectives of the RFT are to provide total freedom to all the citizens of Rohnat, especially the descendants of the celebrated freedom fighters of Rohnat. This includes not just political freedom, but freedom from hunger, disease, and unemployment. The Trust would strive to undertake various activities in the field of education, vocational and skill training, creation of assets and physical development of the village, health care, focused development of the youth, women, elderly to comprehensively cover all political, social as well as economic dimensions to ensure total freedom in the comprehensive sense for community at large in Rohnat.
  • The Trust would aim at developing Rohnat as a model example of inclusive development in free India, to act as a beacon and guiding star for all similar institutions in the future, and also serve as a fitting tribute to the brave sons and daughters of Rohnat who laid down their lives for the nation during the first war of independence in 1857-58. It would ensure social justice, empowerment and equity amongst all residents of Rohnat and to establish and support the various Developmental, Progressive, Educational, Health and Scientific and Research Institutions towards fulfilling the objectives set forth by the great Indian Freedom Fighters as a vision for the Independent India and to carry out such tasks as are essential towards protection, preservation and advancement of the Character and Moral Values amongst the Community at large and Rohnat Community in particular, on the principles of Sarva Dharma, Unity of All of Religions and for Service to humanity.
  • It will contribute towards the building of a central corpus fund of the RFT as part of the various service and welfare activities to be undertaken under the auspices of this Trust and to receive and dispense funds by way of donations, contributions and grants from individuals, organizations, bodies, governments both from India and abroad for carrying out various social welfare activities under the auspices of this Trust.
  • While Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, who visited the village on Martyrdom Day on March 23,2018 and announced the formation of the Trust, will be the Settlor-Author of the Trust, the founder Governing Trustees included Principal Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment, Divisional Commissioner, Hisar Division, Hisar, Deputy Commissioner, Bhiwani, Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat Rohnat and Mrs Bedo, wife of Mr Nanuram, being oldest surviving descendant of freedom fighters of village Rohnat.
