- Chandigarh, Sept 7 – In two separate cases, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Haryana Police have nabbed two accused in drug peddling case in Sirsa and recovered 3.690 kilograms of ganja and 24.27 gram heroin from their possession.
- While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that in the first case, the CIA officials arrested Vijay, a resident of Chandigarhia Mohalla, J.J. Colony in Sirsa. The accused was found in possession on 3.690 kg ganja. He was nabbed near Lord Shiva College bypass, Sirsa.
- He said that the second arrest was made by sleuths of CIA where they arrested accused Rajkumar, a native of Ward Number 27, JJ Colony. He was arrested during patrolling with 24.27 gram heroin from JJ Colony area.
- Both accused have been arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused will be taken on remand by producing them in the court for further investigation. Stern action would be taken after identifying the involvement of others in this racket of drug smuggling, he added.
- Meanwhile, Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu appreciated the district SP, Mr Hamid Akhar and his entire team for the wonderful work done for freeing the district of drug menace.
