  • Chandigarh, September 9- Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr Manish Grover said that the Rohtak city would be provided with better basic amenities of drinking water and sewerage, at the cost of about Rs 320 crore.
  •  The Minister was addressing the people after laying the foundation stone of a sewerage project of Rs 190 crore under AMRUT Yojana in Rohtak today.  
  • Mr Grover said that under the sewerage project, a 175-km long sewerage line would be laid in the city and old sewerage line of 10 km would be replaced. A total of 4,524 RCC manhole would be constructed, while 4,239 manholes would be constructed with bricks. He said that under the project, 21,097 expansion chamber and eight pumping stations would be constructed, besides one main pumping station. 9,950 metres long disposal pipeline would be laid. Apart from construction of 15 MLD and 12 MLD Sewerage Treatment Plant, a sewerage treatment plant would be upgraded.  
  • He said that the construction company had been given clear instructions to complete the works of the project within one year and it would also carry out the maintenance work of the project for five years. The work of sewerage project costing Rs 190 crore has begun and on September 14, tenders would be released for drinking water project costing Rs 90 crore. Tenders of Rs 40 crore for the development of various colonies have already been released.
  • The construction of the elevated road in Rohtak, is almost completed. With elevated road, five-storey parking would also be built at three places, he added.
