- Chandigarh, May 27- The Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi today lauded the efforts of Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr Yogi Adityanath in strengthening law and order in both the States.
- The Prime Minister was addressing a large gathering after the inauguration of Eastern Peripheral Expressway (Kundli-Ghaziabad-Expressway) at Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh today.
- He said that earlier the criminal after committing crime in one state used to run to other state. However, with the coordinated efforts of the Chief Ministers of both the states, the criminals have now been surrendering, which is resulting in reduction in crime and providing better law and order situation in both the states, he added.
- Chandigarh, May 27: The Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi dedicated India’s first access control highway, Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP Expressway) to the Nation today.
- Mr Narendra Modi arrived at the KGP Helipad at Sonipat district at 11:30 am where he was accorded warm welcome by Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, Urban Local Bodies Minister Mrs Kavita Jain and Member of Parliament Mr Ramesh Kaushik. Mr Modi was also accompanied by Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highways Mr Nitin Gadkari.
- As per his scheduled programme, Mr Modi inaugurated the the Digital Art Gallery of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) at the toll plaza in Jakhauli village of the district. Earlier, at the main entrance of the Gallery, Mr Modi viewed the map of KGP Expressway and saw as how the KGP and KMP would change the picture of national capital Delhi and National Capita Region (NCR) area. Later, Mr Modi went around the Digital Art Gallery where he was informed in detail about the journey right from the begging of construction work of KGP Expressway till is completion by using 3D technique. These included acquisition of land for the Expressway, redressal of grievances related to farmers, beginning of ground work on the Expressway, strategy for the timely completion of work, technique used in the construction work, use of solar energy, plantation and benefits of the Expressway for the people of Delhi and other areas.
- Secretary of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Mr Yudhvir Singh Malik apprised Mr Modi that the construction of this Highway has been completed in 500 days instead of 910 days. This is a record in itself and would prove to be a milestone in the field of highway construction. He informed that the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway (Eastern Peripheral Expressway) has been constructed by NHAI to ease the traffic congestion in Delhi. A sum of Rs 5,763 crore has been spent on this six-lane and 135 kilometers long highway, he said adding that this is the country’s first access control highway and the vehicle would be charged toll on the basis of distance covered. He said that arrangement of rain water harvesting has been made at every 500 meters on the both sides of this Highway. The entire Highway is powered by solar energy, he added.
- The 36 famous monuments depicting India’s rich culture and heritage like India Gate, Gate Way of India, Ashoka’s Pillar have been set up on both sides of this expressway. The Digital Art Gallery has been constructed by NHAI to acquaint the coming generation and the visitors about the technique used in the construction of India’s first access control highway, obstacles faced in the process and other works. Eighteen displays have been prepared in the gallery in which all information concerning the construction of the Highway has been incorporated. This information would not only enhance the knowledge of people but also prove to be beneficial for the students of engineering and research.
- Mr Modi congratulated NHAI and engineers, officers, employees and workers engaged in the construction of Highway for their outstanding work.
- Among those other present on this occasion included Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S Dhesi, Director General of Police (DGP) Mr B. S Sandhu, Deputy Commissioner, Sonipat Mr Vinay Singh, SSP Mr Satyendra Gupta and Media Advisor to Chief Minister Mr Rajiv Jain.
- Chandigarh, May 27- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi will also dedicate major projects including Western Peripheral Expressway, Metro line from Delhi to Bahadurgarh, Haryana Vishwakarma Skill Development University as he will be requested soon to spare time for the inauguration of these projects.
- The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering at the inauguration of Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway in the presence of the Prime Minister at Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh today.
- Mr Manohar Lal thanked the Prime Minister and said that construction of this 135-km long expressway has begun a new era in the field of infrastructure. He said that soon Western Peripheral Expressway would also be completed and the total length of 270 kms road of these two Expressways would be the longest road in any country of the world.
- He said that the Prime Minister has also inaugurated a digital gallery related to this Expressway today, which has all the information regarding its construction.
- Mr Manohar Lal said that the Central Government has completed four years on May 26 and entered into fifth year. During the period, massive developmental works have been undertaken bringing changes in the system. In the fifth year, the accelerated pace of development would get new direction with the coordinated and dedicated efforts of all of us, he assured.
- While congratulated the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Mr Nitin Gadkari on his 61st birthday, he said that the foundation stone of this expressway was laid in Kundli of Haryana and today the Prime Minister is dedicating it to public. He said that Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have close relationship which would further be strengthened. Lord Krishna was born in Uttar Pradesh, and Kurukshetra was the land of His Karma (Karma Bhumi).”
- He said that the foundation stone of Chhachhrauli Bridge had been laid and its tenders would be opened by coming June 5. He said that in the last three-and-a-half-years, a sum of Rs 35,000 crore was approved for nine national highways for strengthening infrastructure sector in Haryana. He said that with the construction of both Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressway, the people of Delhi would get a big relief from traffic congestion and this expressway would play an important link between North India and South India. He said that these Expressways would induce development and also open opportunities of investments.
- He said that both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are mainly agricultural States and good relations have been developed in culture, infrastructure and other areas in both the states besides strengthening Mandi infrastructure. He said that recently, detailed deliberations were held with the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr Yogi Adityanath on law and order in both States, after which, police personnel of both the States are working in coordination with each other which has succeeded in controlling criminal activities. This coordination in both the states would continue in future also, he added.
- He said that the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Mr Nitin Gadkari has said that in the next 10-15 days, work on Dwarka Expressway that links Delhi and Haryana would begin. He said that the expressway would be constructed at the cost of Rs 7,000 crore.

- Chandigarh, May 27- Taking a new initiative for further inspiring the bright students, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today had breakfast with toppers of class X and XII board examinations during his visit to Jind. These seven toppers have brought laurels to the district and the state.
- While encouraging the students, Mr Manohar Lal said that if our goals are determined and we work hard for it, then definitely we would achieve success. He said that in the present era, beside passing the examination, the students must come on the list of toppers in board exams and university. Any student with his hard work and ability can make his own special identity. The students who have topped in exams have also made their parents and teachers proud of their achievements, he added.
- While interacting with the students, the Chief Minister asked about their goals in life. He said, “There are a lot of opportunities in the field of engineering and medical stream, for this the students should continue to work hard which will lead them to a glorious future.”
- The Chief Minister congratulated Kartik of Nav Durga Senior Secondary School, Jind who has secured the first position in the State by scoring 99.6 per cent and said that he should continue to work hard. Other bright students included Tanuja of Kanya Gurukul Senior Secondary School with 98 per cent and Kavish Mittal of MDN School, Narwana with 97.6 per cent and four toppers of class XII board exam included Gurmeet of SD Girls Senior Secondary School, Narwana with 97.8 per cent, Nishu of Government Senior Secondary School for Girls with 97.6 per cent, Gurvita of Arya Senior Secondary School with 97 per cent and Preeti of Bal Vikas Senior Secondary School with 94.4 per cent.
- While having breakfast with the Chief Minister, the students felt encouraged and more determined to achieve top positions in future.
- Chandigarh, May 27- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today announced to constitute an authority for the rejuvenation of ponds in the state.
- The Chief Minister disclosed this, while interacting with media persons in Jind today.
- He said that in the three and a half years of the present government, many development works have been carried across the state which has won the trust of the people. The previous Government in its ten years’ regime had announced about 6,500 development projects, but in the present government, in three and a half years, 4,500 development projects have been announced, of which 3300 projects have been completed. He said that the state has progressed a lot in the last three-and-a-half years, which was not seen in the last 48 years of the state.
- He said that the state government is carrying out equitable development throughout the state. Nobody from any area can raise the finger for biased development of his area. He said that the present government has brought water till 293 tailends, out of 300 tailends where not a single drop of water reached in the last 30 years.
- He said that soon the construction work of medical college in Jind would begin. For this, next month the procedure of allotting tender would begin. A sum of Rs 19 crore had been released for the repair work of roads of Jind city.
- In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said that at present there is a shortage of doctors in the state, but to remove this shortage, 22 new medical colleges would be set up in the state. He said that there are 27,000 posts of doctors, of which 7,000 posts have been filled and the state government would start the process to fill the remaining vacant posts.
- He said that the state government has won the SYL case in Supreme Court and to begin work on it, petition would be filed with the court. On a question of competent party against BJP party in the Vidhan Sabha elections, he said that other than BJP, there is no other party in Haryana and the two parties which used to exist; now they are fighting for their own identity. BJP would once again form the government in the Vidhan Sabha elections, he added.
- The Chief Minister today dedicated three big projects costing Rs 14 crore for the people of the district Jind. He inaugurated Chhatrapati Shivaji Hostel, Bharat Bodh Gallery and Suvidha Kendra in Jind. During his visit, he also visited Antyodaya School started for the children of labourers.
