Chandigarh August 20: Taking a significant step towards imparting quality education to the students in the State, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has given go-ahead for the setting up of 108 new english medium Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools and 1000 Government Model Sanskriti Primary School (Bag Free Schools) in the State. The admission process in these schools would commence from September 2020 and admission would be made on a first come first serve basis.
The go-ahead was given by Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal while presiding over a meeting to review the progress of Government Model Sanskriti Schools here today. Education Minister, Mr Kanwar Pal and Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Mrs. Kamlesh Dhanda were also present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that the present State government is giving special emphasis on 5-S that is Shiksha (education), Swasthya (health), Suraksha (security), Swalamban (self-reliance) and Swabhiman (self respect). Mr Manohar Lal who also holds the portfolio of Finance Department had during his budget speech announced to open a new Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School in every block of the State and 1000 Government Model Sanskriti Primary School (Bag Free Schools) in the State to impart quality education to the students at par with private schools. At present, 23 Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools and 418 Bag Free Schools are already functional in the State.
It was decided that till the construction of buildings, the new Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools will run in the existing government schools. There would be a separate cadre of teachers for these schools and their selection would be made from the teaching staff of existing government schools on the basis of screening. Apart from this, a separate transfer policy of teachers would be prepared for these schools.
It was informed that nominal fee would be charged from the students in these schools. While one time admission fee of Rs 500 would be charged from the students of 1 to 5th standard, for classes 6th to 12th, it would be Rs 1000. Similarly, monthly fees of Rs 200 would be charged from the students of classes 1 to 3, Rs 250 for class 4th and 5th, Rs 300 for classes 6 to 8, Rs 400 for class 9th and 10th and Rs 500 for the class 11th and 12th. Adequate transport facilities would be provided to the students in these schools.
It was informed that apart from infrastructure facilities like furniture for all rooms, smoke detectors, fire-fighting equipment, CCTV, Solar power panels and landscaping, all these Sanskriti Model Schools would be equipped with digital facilities like digital classrooms; projector, interactive whiteboards, LCD, digital podium, cloud-based E-learning initiatives and wi-fi and bio-metric attendance system for the students. Apart from this arrangement of well equipped and modern labs such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology Labs, art and craft studio, robotics lab etc, well stocked library or digital library would also be made in these schools.
It was also informed that 1000 playway schools would be set up in anganwadi centres which are currently running inside the premises of primary schools. These playway schools provide an opportunity to impart education in a child friendly and stress-free environment.
Among those present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary Women and Child Development Department Mr Amit Jha, Additional Chief Secretary School Education Mr Mahavir Singh, Director General, Skill Development and Industrial Training and Employment Dr Rakesh Gupta, Director, Secondary Education Mr J. Ganeshan, Director, Women and Child Development Mr Manoj Kumar and other senior officers of the State Government.
